Spring Series
I found myself creating jewelry that reminded me of spring with the colors, the textures and the organization of the beads. Most of the pieces in this series are softer colored: pale greens, lavenders, pinks, peaches and yellows. Essentially, the colors of new spring growth and flowers. Many of the pieces also include pearls, which are traditionally thought of as "sea stones" often referred to as "tears of the moon." However, the soft glowing finish reminds me of delicate flower petals. Many pieces in this series also contain translucent beads, which add to the feeling of tender new growth. Some of the pieces have clusters of beads which is reminiscent of flower buds, such as lilacs, rhododendrons, and azaleas.
